He will await the resurrection at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. 

Visitation will begin at 7 a.m Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Notre Dame Catholic until time of service with a rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m.

A resident of St. Martinville, he transitioned at 7:45 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

He was a great outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, and driving tractors.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Maxine Davis Sylvester of St. Martinville; three daughters, Crystal Jones and Dodie Minor (William) both of St. Martinville, and Amonie Faulk of Lafayette; a child he reared as a son, Everette Demouchet of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Shirley Sylvester of Breaux Bridge; one brother, Lee Boy Sylvester of St. Martinville; five grandchildren, Danasia Minor, Braylon Scallan, Baileigh Edmond, Bryleigh Edmond and Ryan Demouchet; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sylvester and Lovenia Johnson Sylvester; seven brothers, Clifton Sylvester, Robert Sylvester, Joseph Sylvester, Wilton Sylvester, Wilbert Sylvester, Gerald Sylvester and Jerry Sylvester; four sisters, Mary Lee Sylvester, Mary Ann Sylvester Berry, Joyce Sylvester Brown and Sedonia Sylvester Barber.
