Louis ‘Pop Joe’ Bourque
Visiting hours were observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
A Rosary was prayed at 11:30 a.m. on Monday by Creed Dugas, followed by Eulogy by Danielle Fuselier.
Father Bill Melancon officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Reader was Dalton “Buddy” Hebert.
Pop Joe honorably served in the United States Air Force in World War II. He was a Sugarcane Farmer his entire life, until his retirement. Pop Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Terry Bourque (Faye) and Luke Bourque (Donna); daughter, Renee Poche (Clint); grandchildren, Nicholas Bourque (Dusty), Timothy Bourque (Holly), Kimberly Frohock (Tim), Charlie Bourque, Ravin Bourque (Collin), Danielle Fuselier (Roy), Ryan Bourque (Lindsey), Jacob Beslin (Halie), Casey Poche (Kristy), Lindsey Hebert (Tristan “Lou”) and Justin Poche (Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cole, Beckham, Kane, Lilli, Katie, Kohen, Cruz, Sidnee, Ella, Anna, Jax, Aubrey, Parker, Rhyan, Emersyn, Drew, Abby, Hadli, Hudson, Paisley, Rowan and Easton on the way; great-great-grandchild, Brynn, Briar and Bree; sister, Marion Dugas (John “Creed”); brother, Bobby Bourque (Irene); and sister-in-law, Hazel G. Bourque.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Broussard Bourque; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Guidry Bourque; parents, Daniel and Modeste Barras Bourque; sisters, Nell Hebert, Lena Bonin, Maudray Melancon and Hazel Berard; and brothers, Jerome Bourque and Raymond Bourque.
Pallbearers were Nicholas Bourque, Timothy Bourque, Ryan Bourque, Casey Poche, Justin Poche and Kohen Bourque.
