Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in St. Martinville from 9 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
A rosary was prayed by Cynthia Elmer at 11 a.m. on Monday.
Rev. Garrett Savoie officiated at the Funeral Service. Readers were Kayla Bonner and Brenda Derouen.
Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Lorraine was born February 20, 1929, in St. Martinville. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Lorraine enjoyed a good cup of coffee, watching old westerns on television, and loved to watch cardinals and hummingbirds. She cherished her time spent with her family and she will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her daughters, Anne Pellerin (Darryl), Lorna Heintz (David), and Sheila Lovas, all of St. Martinville; sons, Thomas Lovas Jr. (Barbara) of Slidell, Brian Lovas of St. Martinville and John Lovas (Barbara) of River Ridge; grandchildren, Elizabeth O. Barras (Steven), Thomas Lovas III (April), Shawn Lovas, Zachary Lovas (Jamie), Brooke Hirstius (Jeff), Amie Lovas, Kayla Bonner (Chris), Amy Heintz and Katie Menard; great-grandchildren, Samantha Trail, Natalie Lovas, Jared Hirstius, Julie Hirstius, Kayla Lovas, Zoey Lovas and Lexie Rose Lovas; and her siblings, Marie Therese “Timmie” Rodriguez (Cliff), Claudia Chataignier, Charles Chataignier (Kathy), Clay Chataignier (Charlotte), Carrol Chataignier (Stephanie) and Michael Chataignier (Cindy).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Lovas Sr.; parents, Charles and Marie Therese Bienvenu Chataignier; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Lelia Beslin Lovas; and her siblings, Charlene Chataignier, Edwina Guirard, Doris Fournet, Hope Dugas, Gale Gray and Richard Chataignier.
Pallbearers were Brian Lovas, Carrol Chataignier, Michael Chataignier, Charles Chataignier, Clay Chataignier and Darryl Pellerin.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
