Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Friday 

Deacon Ken Soignier officiated at the funeral service. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.

David was a chemical engineer; he loved his job and was great at it. He was dependable and always very prompt.

David loved cleaning cars, cutting grass and cooking, especially his favorite food, Italian cuisine. 

He is survived by his wife, Verna Allemand; two daughters, Kristi McDonald Boudreaux and Dinah Richard; grandchild, Jolie Boudreaux; brother, Preston McDonald (Jessica); niece, Macy McDonald; two uncles, Michael McDonald (Julie) and Lester Fryou (Lois); and his aunt, Viola Ohmer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles McDonald; mother, Mayola Fryou McDonald; paternal grandparents, Preston and Mary McDonald; and maternal grandparents, William and Rita Fryou. 

Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
