Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Stephen “Malo” Cormier, 88, who passed away on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018. Visiting hours will be observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2. Stephen served 23 years in the United States Army National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Joycelyn Alleman Cormier; son, Carl L. Cormier; daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Susan) Belaire and Mrs. Patrick (Janice) Belaire; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Geraldine Cormier; two sisters and five brothers. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
