A native and resident of Nina, La, Vivian was born on August 1st, 1927, to the late Armond and Terzile Melancon. She owned and operated a gas station in Breaux Bridge for many years with husband Clarence. Later, they had Vivian’s Grocery on Grand Point until retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Schexnayder (Sam) ; son, Gerald Guidry (Nita); and son-in-law David McFaul; four grandchildren, Stacey Willingham (Steven), Kimberly Eddy (Shawn), Nicholas McFaul (Carolina) and Jenny Guidry; and five great-grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her husband, Clarence “Coon” Guidry; her parents, Armond and Terzile Melancon; three brothers, Jean Baptiste (infant), Clifford and Ramsey Melancon; one sister, Velma “Toot” Melancon Roberts; son, Gary Guidry; and daughter, Yvonne Guidry McFaul.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Agnes Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and Hope Healthcare and Hospice for the care they gave Vivian. They would also like to extend a special Thank You to Mrs. Jeanelle Mouton, who’s love and care was above and beyond, and greatly appreciated.
