Charles ‘Chucky’ Foti III

Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Charles “Chucky” Foti III, 64, who passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge. 

A visitation took place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m..

A rosary was prayed at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated the memorial service.

Charles built a life of pride and joy through his successful career as the owner and operator of “King Foti Watermelons” for over 40 years. He was affectionately known throughout the community as the “Watermelon Man.”

Charles enjoyed an active social life with his wife. They were avid travel companions who enjoyed going on cruises and traveling to their favorite destination, San Francisco. Charles also loved going to flea markets, eating fried chicken, and attending baseball games for his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda Soileau Foti; daughter, Melissa Aymond; son, Charles Howard Foti (Lauren); brother, Floyd Foti (Robin); sisters, Danette Foti, Deborah Foti and Francesca Picard (Leonard); and his grandchildren, Dixon Aymond, Huck Aymond and River Aymond.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Foti Jr. and Mary Touchette Foti.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff of St. Agnes Nursing Home, especially Twolla Babineaux, for the care and compassion they provided. 

Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
