St. Martinville – Funeral services will be scheduled at a later date for Mazel Vicknair, 76, who passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Calcutta House, Hospice of Acadiana.

She is survived by her four children, daughters, Francine Melancon Allemond (Kim), and Rachael Melancon Champagne (Jonathan Sr.); sons, Robin Melancon and Ramie Melancon; sisters, Lena Morvant and Sherry Langley (Walter); brother Wayne Lasseigne (Gladys); 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Theresa Escoyne Lasseigne and Leroy Vicknair, her brother Dean Lasseigne, her son Larry Melancon Jr., and daughter Nicole Melancon, and her grandsons Sye Allemond and Robin Melancon Jr.

The family would like to thank the staff of Calcutta House, Hospice of Acadiana, for caring for our mother.
