A visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Rev. Jason Vidrine officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Carlie Bourque and Taylor Clark.
Burial followed at St. Michael Cemetery.
Larry was born on June 10, 1953, in St. Martinville. Throughout his life, Larry found joy in the simple pleasures of duck hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camp in the basin. His passion for the outdoors was only matched by his commitment to serving his country, having honorably served in the National Guard. A devoted provider for his family, Larry retired at the age of 65, leaving behind a lasting impact on those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and hard work that will forever be cherished by his family and community.
He is survived by his children, Larry Champagne, Jr. (Heidi R. Champagne), Amy Harmon (Donovan) and Cory Champagne (Dawn R. Champagne); grandchildren, Taylor Clark (Aaron), Carlie Bourque (Cullen), Tyler Champagne, Paris Champagne; step grandchildren, Anthony Salvador Melancon, III and Kelsi Guilbeau; great-grandchildren, Isabelle Clark, Charli Clark and Miller Broussard; step great-grandchildren, Jaxon Guilbeau and Millie Guilbeau; and one sister, Lucille Theriot.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Henson Champagne; parents, Wilfred and Angie Marie Guidry Champagne; and his sister, Anna Mae Resweber.
Pallbearers were Larry Champagne, Jr., Cory Champagne, Tyler Champagne, Chene Resweber, Darrel Theriot, and Wayne Theriot.
Honorary pallbearers were Donovan Harmon, Aaron Clark, and Cullen Broussard.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
