August 17, 1933 March 13, 2019 Leonville – A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends of Joseph A. Haynes, 85, who passed away at his residence with his wife by his side. Joseph lived in Breaux Bridge most of his life, but was living in Leonville at the time of his passing, where the memorial will be held. Joseph, better known as Poppa Joe to his family and close friends, was born August 17, 1933, to Alvis and Agnes Haynes. He started working at a young age, after his father passed away, to help support his mother and siblings whom he loved and adored. Joseph served in the Armed Forces. He had an incredible love for fishing and camping. He loved gathering with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby; sons, Bryan and Kenneth (Wanda); daughters, Deidra (Kevin), Dena (Ricky) and Melissa; brothers, Dale and Dave; sisters, Aggie, Eva, Shirley and Cat. 11 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Agnes Haynes; mother-in-law, Temay; brothers, George and Jimmy; sister, Betty; and one grandchild, Landon.
