Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Dalton J. Theriot, 85, who passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday. Rev. Garrett McIntyre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Janice Pickard. Gift Bearers were Phyllis and Wilson Theriot. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Dalton worked at Martin Mills for 25 years and was awarded for his dedication in the Maintenance Department. Dalton loved working in his garden and everything he produced in his garden was given to family, friends and neighbors. He will be remembered for his kindness and as a hard working man. He is survived by his brothers, Wilson Theriot and wife Phyllis of Breaux Bridge and Clifford Theriot and wife Gayle of St. Martinville; and his sisters, Lillian Blanchard and husband Camile of Catahoula, Ollie Verret of Cade, Geraldine Dore and husband Nolan of St. Martinville, and Emily Bergeron and husband Paul of Breaux Bridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noe and Devine Bijeaux Theriot. Pallbearers were Paul Bergeron, Camile Blanchard, Wilson Theriot, Clifford “Bero” Theriot, Joey Theriot and Rilius Verret.
