Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Abel Paul LaPorte, 83, who passed away on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019. Visiting hours will be observed from 5 until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday from 7 until 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. He is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Rod (Sharon) LaPorte and Mrs. Wade (Beverly) Kilgo; son, Kevin J. LaPorte; sisters, Mrs. Don (Melba) Hebert and Shirley Michaels; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Cyprien and Frank LaPorte; and sisters, Mildred L. Clegg Taylor and Lita M. Haggard. Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
