St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church ifor Eula Marie Mayet LeBlanc, 88, who passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at her residence. Visiting hours rbe observed at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday from 7 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A Rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Father Bill Melancon officiated at the Funeral Service. Scriptures were read by Sandy Trosclair and Becky Rayner. Gift Bearers were Becky Rayner, Elizabeth Hammack, Ellen Mayet, Liz Mayet and Denise Andre. Interment followed at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. Eula, affectionately known to many as “Maw,” was a prayer warrior and spent many hours praying for anyone who needed. She would take many road trips to the Rosary House in New Iberia to pick up prayer cards for those who were on her prayer list. Eula enjoyed cooking, playing scrabble and cards, entertaining her friends that came to visit her and going to eat out. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her grandchildren, Megan Louise Albert of St. Martinville, Ryan David Albert and spouse Chantal of Coteau Holmes, Derek James Albert and partner Desiree Ferris Atkins of Lafayette and Jacob Lloyd Albert and girlfriend Lauren Credeur of Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Luke David Albert of St. Martinville, Jolie Ann Brandalynn Ferris of Scott and Brooklyn Rae Credeur of Lafayette; and sister, June Trahan of Brandon, Miss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Fernand LeBlanc; son, David LeBlanc; daughter, Vickie Ann Albert; parents, Delma and Edna Mayet; brothers, Percy Mayet, Ned Mayet and Lois Mayet; sisters, Sallie Giroir and Janet Beniot; and son-in-law, Curry James Albert. Pallbearers were Ryan David Albert, Jacob Lloyd Albert, Steve Fuselier Jr., Clifton Girior, Percy Mayet and Mark Mayet. Honorary pallbearers were Derek James Albert, James “Jim” LeBlanc, Harold Girior, Steve Girior Sr., Edward “Ed” LeBlanc, Joe Miller and Byron Fuselier Sr. The family would like to offer special thanks to Heart of Hospice for their excellent care given to her in her final days. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
