Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Livia Albert Olivier, 71, who passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at her son’s residence. Visiting hours were observed at the Dion Hall from 11 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019, until service time on Saturday. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday by Sidney Mae Louviere. Rev. Bill Melancon officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Sidney Mae Louviere, Jacy Dupre and Candice Resweber. Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Livia enjoyed camping, cooking, watching western and horror movies. She had a heart of gold and helping people was the first thing she thought of in the morning. Livia’s favorite time of the year was Christmas, because it was the same time as her birthday and that made it extra special for her. She gave love to anyone who walked through her door and needed a place to stay or a hot meal to eat - no one was ever a stranger to her. She is survived by her loving daughters, Sheila Olivier Pauley and husband Clive of Breaux Bridge and Kristy Olivier of Catahoula; sons, Russell Rusty Olivier and wife Melissa of Catahoula and Randall “Salt” Olivier and wife Crystal of Cecilia; adopted son, Matthew Barnette and spouse Tammy of Loreauville; grandchildren, Hunter Olivier, Blake Olivier, Sadi Guidry and spouse Kevin Arceneaux, Jacy Dupre and spouse Layne, Alana Olivier, Re’jen Olivier, Te’dm Olivier, Rustyn Olivier, Caleb Perez, Brayden Melancon, Cade Melancon, Gannon Olivier, Tanner Olivier, Jenna Olivier, Macenly Boudreaux, Malee Devillier and Makail Olivier; great-grandchildren, Alaijah Arceneaux, Aniya Dupre, Kayson Dupre, Micah Dupre, Avery Dupre, Malani Calais, Cadence Marceaux and Zylan Olivier; daughter-in-law, Wanda Theriot Olivier and companion Shane Hollier of Catahoula; sisters, Irene Theriot, Clara Wiltz and husband Stanley, and Sidney Mae Louviere; and brothers, Clesma Albert and wife Laura, Wilbert Albert and wife Betty, Berton Albert and companion Judy, and Roland Albert and wife Jeanine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Richard” Olivier; son, Ritchie Louis Olivier; mother, Amanthe Albert; father, Moise Albert Sr.; brothers, Ambrose Albert, Russell Albert and Moise Albert Jr.; and sisters, Florence Hebert, Lorraine Louviere and Helen Bienvenu. Pallbearers were Hunter Olivier, Blake Olivier, Te’dm Olivier, Gannon Olivier, Tanner Olivier and Macenly Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearers were Roland Albert and Danny Poirier.
