Joseph ‘T-Joe’ Kidder

Arnaudville – Private services will be held for Joseph “T-Joe” Kidder, 90, who passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville. Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Travis Abadie, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Mr. Kidder was a native and lifelong resident of Arnaudville. A jack of all trades, he was employed with Local Union 692 for 25 years as a pipeline constructor. After his years as a pipeliner, he was a bus driver for St. Martin Parish School Board for 14 years. A veteran of the United States Army, Joseph fought for his country in the Korean War. He was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Church in Arnaudville. Joseph had the most beautiful garden in Arnaudville, which he shared with everyone. He absolutely loved to give of the fruits of his labors and he did so through his “Honesty Box” located under his carport. Passersby could take as many cucumbers or other vegetables as they wanted, and they could leave donations in the “Honesty Box.” He was an amazing husband, father, and friend, and his love of hunting and gardening provided well for his family. He also had a stubborn streak: if he liked you, he liked you; if he didn’t, you didn’t stand a chance. If T-Joe wasn’t in his garden, he could often be found resting on his porch swing. He was a good, honest, hard-working man, and he instilled those traits in his girls. Their love for him will live on through their children and grandchildren forever. Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Bergeron and her husband Allen of Arnaudville, Margaret Meche and her husband Michael of Leonville, and JoAnn Richard and her husband Kevin of Arnaudville; five grandchildren, Kristin Guillory and her husband Donald “T-Joe,” Marcus Meche, Heidi Quebedeaux and her husband Kenry “K.C.”, Kimberly Richard and Michael “Mikey” Meche and his wife Blair; ten great-grandchildren, Ely Guillory, Dylan Guillory, Ella Jo Guillory, Hayden Quebedeaux, Aubree Quebedeaux, Luke Quebedeaux, Mason Meche, Lucas Meche, Nathan Meche and Samantha Meche. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louella Kidder; his parents, Jean and Bernadette Kidder; two brothers, Pierre and David Kidder; and four sisters, Elodie Kidder, Ernestine Darbonne, Marie Darbonne and Aline Brasseaux.
