St. Martinville  – A Memorial Mass was celebrated for Pierre Joseph Bienvenu at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Father Ed Degatur celebrated the Holy Mass. Burial followed at St. Michael’s Cemetery in St. Martinville. Pierre J. Bienvenu, 89, of St Martinville, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020, at home surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Bienvenu, a resident of St Martinville, was the son of the late Lacke and Lucille Bienvenu. He is survived by his beloved wife, Velma Theriot Bienvenu; son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Peggy Bienvenu; son and daughter-in-law, James and Laura Bienvenu; daughter, Wendy Bienvenu and fiancé Karl Hebert; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacke and Lucille Bienvenu; and daughter, Renee Marie Bienvenu.
