St. Martinville – A Memorial Service was celebrated at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Allen Ray Olivier, 82, who passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at his residence. Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of service on Thursday. Deacon Shawn Gautreaux officiated at the Memorial Service. Allen enjoyed the outdoors, watching television, working with his hands, and gardening. He was a man of few words but will be remembered for his responsibility and for always making sure that his family was well-cared for and was loved unconditionally. Allen will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Rita Voorhies Olivier of St. Martinville; two daughters, Elena (Kenneth) Uildriks of Round Rock, Texas and Amy (Keenan) Smith of St. Martinville; and seven grandchildren, Evan Smith, Eva Smith, Kullen Smith, Amber Uildriks, Jared Uildriks, Thomas Uildriks and Tyler Guidry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olivier and Odolphania Castille Olivier; and his two sisters, Yuline Malone and Mary Hebert. Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
