ux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Mildred “Toot” R. ux, 95, who passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in ux Bridge. Toot and her husband, Canook, owned and operated ux’s Cleaners for 60 years. She was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Crawfish Festival Association, and the Crawfish Campers Association. Toot enjoyed camping, cooking, playing cards, and doing word search puzzles. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Toot will fondly be remembered for her warm and welcoming smile of appreciation as she greeted her customers when entering the cleaners. She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth (Cleo) ux of Bunkie and Jimmy (Edie) ux of Lafayette; daughter, Faye B. (Jake) Kern of ux Bridge; five grandchildren, Kenneth (Mary) ux Jr., Kristy (Tony) Gonzales, Katheryn Hernandez, Steven (Brandi) Hernandez and Jennifer (Matt) LeBlanc; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Flo Domingue of Lafayette; and brothers, Raymond Robertson and Harold Robertson, both of Parks. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Canook” ux Sr.; parents, Raoul Sr. and Florence Periou Robertson; her grandson, Cye Kern; a great-grandson, Cye Baudoin; and her brothers, Harris, Alton, Francis, Bobby and Vernon Robertson. Pallbearers will be Kenneth ux Jr., Steven Hernandez, Kenneth ux III, Matt LeBlanc, Tony Gonzales and Glenn ux.
