Charles ‘Chuck’ Francis Boggs Sr

St. Martinville – Charles “Chuck” Francis Boggs Sr., 71, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021, in St. Martinville. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the home of his daughter, Andrea Thibodeaux. Chuck grew up in St. Martinville with his 10 siblings and was a member of the CCA (Coastal Conservation Association). He, along with his brothers, spent the last 25 plus years handcrafting custom exterior shutters. When he was not at the shop, you could find him outdoors enjoying nature. Chuck spent most of his time fishing at his camp in Chauvin. He was a passionate woodcock hunter with his canine companion, Opie. You could often find him bird watching with a pair of binoculars. He was a quiet man, yet for those closest to him he was quick-witted and humorous. Chuck will be truly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his two daughters, Andrea Thibodeaux (Ray) and Alisa Boggs; son, Charles “Charlie” F. Boggs Jr.; four grandchildren, Evan Thibodeaux, Ethan Thibodeaux, Hagen Boggs and Carson Boggs; seven brothers, James “Jimmy” Boggs (Nedra), William “Billy” Boggs (Sharon), Francis “Tance” Boggs (Nona), Carl Peter Boggs (Brenda), John Scott Boggs, Joseph “Jody” Boggs (Carla) and Patrick Boggs (Patti); two sisters, Colleen B Willis (Matt) and Margaret Romero (David); and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Boggs. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis M. Boggs Sr.; mother, Marion Guirard Boggs; brother, Michael Boggs; and niece, Kayla Rae Boggs.
