Dolores ‘Dee’ Verret

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial wase celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Dolores “Dee” Verret, 80, who passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017, at St. Martin Hospital.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 90 .p.m on Sunday and continued on Monday at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Rev. Garrett Savoie officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Peggy Simon and Laurie Ann Simon. Gift bearers were Michelle Landry, Holly Verret,and Paula Berard.
Music was provided by her children, grandchildren and her honorary grandchild, Hunter Courville.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Dee loved Jesus Christ, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, talking on the phone with her prayer friends, eating, watching LSU football, reading scripture, going to church at Our Lady of Mercy in Henderson, and visiting with all her church buddies after Mass.
Dee was a dedicated Eucharistic minister for many years at St. Agnes Nursing Home, and she had a special place in her heart for the staff and residents there. She will be remembered for always having a rosary in her hand, her radiant smile, and the kind words she had for everyone. Dee went home to be with Jesus on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by two sons, Frank Daniel Verret and Rodney Michael Verret and his companion Remi Randazzo; two daughters, Paula and husband Timothy Jude Berard and Peggy and husband Gary Simon; grandchildren, Laurie Simon, Michelle Landry, Matthew Berard, Timothy Daniel Berard, Pamela Verret, Carolyn Verret, Holly Verret, Joshua Verret and Jacie Verret; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Latiolais, Alexandra Latiolais, Isabella Nugier, Kennedi Nugier, Annaliese Verret, Avery Rose Berard and Lillian Mae Berard; former spouse of 50 years, Rodney Joseph Verret; and her spiritual sister and dearest friend, Johanna Latiolais Badon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Daniel and Myrtle Mary Seymour; daughter, Windy Marie Verret; and son, John Verret.
Pallbearers were Rodney Michael Verret, Matthew Berard, Timothy Daniel Berard, Joshua Verret, Caleb Landry and Timothy Jude Berard.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Daniel Verret and Gary Simon.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
