After retiring from his distinguished role at the DOTD after 30 years, Donald embarked on a new chapter in his life by joining Pellerin Insurance as an insurance salesman. Beyond his professional achievements, Donald had an extraordinary ability to bring smiles to people’s faces with his infectious laughter and kindhearted nature.

In addition to his admirable career and joyful demeanor, Donald also had a multitude of cherished hobbies and interests. One of his greatest passions was spending Sunday afternoons at the bush tracks with his beloved quarter horses. Another favorite pastime was playing cards at the camp with his dear friends and hanging out at Diesi’s. Donald’s love for his family was immeasurable, and he cherished every opportunity to gather with loved ones.

Notably, Donald also served his country honorably as a member of the United States Marine Corps for six years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Elara Home Health, Hospice of Acadiana, and the numerous family and friends who surrounded them the last few weeks, but most importantly his son-in-law, Leon Angelle, who was there every day and never left his side.
