Lester ‘Tan’ Hardy

Arnaudville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Lester “Tan” Hardy, 91, who passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Rev. Kenneth Domin-gue will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Lester, better known as “Tan,” was born to the late Albert and Lucie Lormand Hardy. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 5153 and Opelousas Elks Lodge #1048. Tan owned and operated Hardy Drug Store in Arnaudville for over 50 years. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary “Polly” Babineaux and husband Ernest Jr., and Gail Fix and husband Jason; son, Terrance Hardy and wife Samantha; grandchildren, Christopher Babineaux and spouse Christina, Leslie Edwards, Ernest Babineaux III and spouse Elizabeth, Morgan Abshire and spouse Lindsay, Angelique Boudreaux and spouse Jason, Emily Hardy, Sadie Hardy and Trevor Quave; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ida Mallet, Heda Kidder and Margie Guidry and husband Donald; brother, James Hardy and wife Terry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Belle Hardy; parents, Albert and Lucie Lormand Hardy; six brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren, Chad Babineaux and Jennifer Abshire.
Pallbearers will be Terrance Hardy, Christopher Babineaux, Ernest Babineaux III, Morgan Abshire, Larry Guilbeau and Ernest Babineaux Jr.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Fix.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville, 314 St. Landry St. (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
