Lloyd J. Landry

St. Martinville – Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Lloyd J. Landry, 98, who died peacefully on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Visiting hours were observed from 11 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2021, until time of service. A rosary was recited at 1:30 p.m.
Reverend Bill Melancon served as Celebrant of the Mass and officiated the funeral service. Lectors were Amy Meyers Allen, Monique Angelle Cenac and Maudrey Boudreaux Durand. The great grandchildren were gift bearers.
Interment was in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
A native of St. Martinville, Mr. Landry was the son of the late Joseph Landry and Edmia Delahoussaye, both natives of St. Martinville. He was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church.
Lloyd loved fishing and hunting and spending time with his large family. Many will remember him for the many years he served as caretaker of Lake Martin prior to his retirement.
Lloyd was a simple, hard-working, humble man who centered his life around his family and God. He found joy in the simple things in life that most of us take for granted.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Landry and wife Claire of St. Martinville, Ronnie Landry of St. Martinville and Mark Landry and his wife Penny of Loreauville; his daughters, Linda Viator (late husband, David Viator) of New Iberia, Peggy Meyers and her husband Francis of Coteau, and Annette Angelle and her husband Randy of Breaux Bridge; son-in-law, Kelly Boudreaux Sr.; grandchildren, Amy Allen (Stan), David Viator (Robin), Nicole Ortego (Dustin), Linda Elise Trahan (Clint), Monique Cenac (Alex), Cherise Hurlburt (Aaron), Justin Angelle (Natalie), Michelle Chatagnier (Todd), Amanda Comb (André), Dr. Kelly Boudreaux Jr. (Dr. Allyson), Maudrey Durand (Corey), Matthew Boudreaux (Tori), Brandi Brown (Kipp), Blair O’Connor (Kevin), Mark Landry II (Baylie), Joseph Landry II (Hannah), and Megan Broussard (Brad); 49 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
His surviving siblings are Dot Gilbert, Jacqueline Douet, Dolly Guidry, Delta Guidry, Beverly Quebedeaux, Wiley Landry Sr. and Harris Landry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudrey Champagne Landry; his daughter, Bonnie Boudreaux; his sisters, Genevieve Landry and Winona Champagne; and brothers, Maurice Landry and Anthony “Steve” Landry.
Pallbearers were Dr. Kelly Boudreaux Jr., Justin Angelle, Mark Landry II, Matthew Boudreaux, Trey Chatagnier, Ty Chatagnier and Taylor Chatagnier.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
