Gwenn LaViolette

Port Allen – Gwenn LaViolette, age 58, a self-described “poor Cajun girl from the swamp” passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, January 5, 2024.  

Gwenn, born in St. Martinville, Louisiana, lived a life of joy, adventure, and service to others.  Gwenn rejoiced in her Cajun heritage, had a deep understanding of Acadian history, enjoyed Cajun cooking, dancing the two-step, and eating boiled crawfish.

Felix (Peco) Castille and Elsie Hollier Castille

Breaux Bridge – Felix (Peco) Castille and Elsie Hollier Castille were life long residents of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Peco passed away on November 8, 2023; Elsie passed away on January 10, 2024. Both died peacefully at home as per their wishes. Both were 93 years old and donated their bodies to the LSU School of Medicine.

Peco was born on February 16, 1930, to Valsin and Martha Landry Castille. Elsie was born on September 2, 1930, to John K. and Elizabeth Ducrest Hollier. She is survived by her twin brother Elwood Hollier.

Jake L. Beazley

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 2, 2024 at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Jake Lynfield Beazley, 28.

He is survived by his mother, Kim Underwood Beazley; brothers, Jared Beazley and Jordon Beazley; and his godchild, Lily Beazley.  

Pellerin Funeral Home was  in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Dale Guidry

Scott - Funeral Services were held at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, La. for Jerry D. Guidry, 82, who passed away in peace at home in Scott, La. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. The family requests visitation be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. until time of service in Martin & Castille’s SCOTT location. The Rosary was recited at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home.

Caroline S. Dupuy

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service was held on Dec. 22, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Caroline S. Dupuy, 85, who passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023.

She is survived by her children, Sidney Joseph Dupuy, IV, Edmund Dupuy, Jean Dupuy, Sr., Denise Dailey, Andrea Castille and Renee Usie; siblings, Anthony Santangelo, Agnes Smith, Brenda Espenan, Janet Pariaro and Anita Aucoin; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. 

Pellerin Funeral Home, was in charge of arrangements.
