Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Sophie B. Frederick, 86, who passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
Henderson – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for Della Blanchard Dupuis, 91, who passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday by Deacon Perry Guidry.
Breaux Bridge – It is with great sadness that I share that Doris G. Cormier passed away at her home after an extended illness on Friday, October 6, 2023.
She was 88 years young. She was born on December 12, 1934 to Willie and Lydia Champagne Gardemal. She was married for 58 years to the love of her life, Guilman Cormier on June 15, 1951.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Frederick; son, Carl Frederick; daughter, Melinda Richard; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Brasseaux; and sister, Bea Melancon.
Lafayette – Dorothy Elaine Johnson Polk got her heavenly wings on September 19, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
She was born June 16, 1945, in Lafayette, LA. The sixth born of 13, she was the daughter of the late Harry Johnson Sr. and Olivia Thibodeaux Johnson.
