Myrtle Oubre

St. Martinville – A Memorial Service was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Myrtle Oubre, 95, who passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. 

A Rosary was prayed at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Pellerin Funeral Home. 

Father Ed Degeyter officiated the services. Inurnment followed at St. Michael Cemetery Mausoleum.

Timothy ‘Timmy’ P. Chauffe

Breaux Bridge – A funeral service will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, for Timothy “Timmy” Paul Chauffe, 69, who passed away on July 8, 2022, at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert will officiate the funeral service. Interment will follow at a later date.

Retired SSG Johnathan Nathaniel Orphe

Killeen, Texas – A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022, at Chisolm’s Family Funeral Home in Killeen for SSG Johnathan Nathaniel Orphe (retired), 43, who died on June 25, 2022, in Killeen.

A viewing was held at  prior to the service, from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial, with full military honors, took place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

A resident of Killeen, SSG Orphe was born on Aug. 20, 1978, in Lafayette, La.

Donna ‘Doni’ Lynn Brannon Simar

St. Martinville – On Sunday, July 3, 2022, heaven gained the matriarch of our family.

Donna “Doni” Lynn Brannon Simar was born in Westlake, La. on February 7, 1954. She was born to Betty Jean Daigle Caswell and Steadmon Brannon and raised by Shelton Caswell. Doni had two sisters – Denise Broussard (Pat) and Dana, and one brother, Danny. Aunt Doni had many nieces, and nephews.

Godfrey A. Bernard

Godfrey A. Bernard of New Iberia passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2022, at the age of 78 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  

Godfrey was born in St. Martinville, La. to Burna and Godfrey Bernard. Prior to receiving his bachelor’s degree at USL, he served in the National Guard. Shortly after graduating, he started his career in the oil field and held his longest standing positions at Tenneco Oil and Diamond Offshore.
