Ollie T. Verret

Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 28, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Ollie Theriot Verret, 86, who died on April 24, 2022.

She is survived by her son, Rilius Verret; daughters, Brenda Verret, Melinda V. Lavergne and Linda V. Faucheaux; six grandchildren and six   great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilson and Cliford Theriot; and sisters, Lillian Blanchard, Mrs. Nolan (Geraldine) Doré and Mrs. Paul (Emily) Bergeron.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rives “Bozo” Verret Jr.

Laura C. Marks

Arnaudville – A Funeral Service will be held on April 30 at Pellerin Funeral Home for Laura Chautin Marks, 92, who died on April 24, 2022.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Kathleen) Milligan; son, John R. Marks; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Marks.

Pellerin Funeral Home  is in charge of arrangements.

Doris W. Ledet

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 29 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Doris Williams Ledet, 82, who died on April 24, 2022. 

She is survived by her sons, Michael J., Robert Joseph L. Sr. and Donald J. Ledet Sr.; sisters, Mrs. Richard (Dalta) Watts and Mrs. Alton (Doretha) Batiste; brothers, Jeffery, Henry and Harold Williams; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by his husband, Rene Ledet. 

Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dennis Smith Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held at  a later date for Dennis Smith Jr., 64, who died on April 23, 2022.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita LeBlanc Smith; son, Dennis Smith III; daughters, Jaclyn Alleman, Mrs. Josh (Magan) Guilbeaux) and Mrs. Jeremy (Kayla)  Fontenot);  12 grandchildren; nine brothers and nine sisters.

Simon G. Cormier

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on April 25 at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Simon G. Cormier, 92, who died on April 21, 2022.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Savoy Cormier; sons, Dennis M. and Kenneth C. Cormier; daughter, Mrs. Tony (Sandra) Stelly; brother, Ernest Cormier; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
