Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 29 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Jean Elnora Goudeau, 87, who died on July 20, 2023.

She is survived by her children, Donna Marie Goudeau Engle, Christina Ann Goudeau Barker, Gwendolyn Jean Goudeau Harris, Carl George Goudeau, Jarrod James Goudeau, and Linda Adair; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Ronnie Magnon.

Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Gola ‘Carol’ Goode Bergeron

A resident of Breaux Bridge, La., she passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 in Amite, La. She was born February 15, 1942 in Hopkinsville, Ky., and was 81 years of age. 

Visitation was held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 2 p.m. until religious services at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 and conducted by Deacon Nat Garofalo. 

Carol was a passionate florist and optician for many years.

Donald Guidry

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial washeld at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Donald Guidry, 84, who passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. 

Visitation took place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., and continued on Monday from 8  a.m. until 1 p.m. 

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Alice ‘Yayet’ Angelle Degeyter

Cecilia - A Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Alice “Yayet” Angelle Degeyter, 97, who passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home. 

A visitation took place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Brother James Tabor officiated at the funeral service. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 22, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Hilda Mae Noel Martinez, 89, who died on July 14, 2023.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Batiste, Shirley Martinez, Judy Singleton, and Nancy Martinez; son, Darren Martinez; sisters, Rose Noel, Vergie Green, and Barbara Joseph.
