St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was held on June 12, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Alvin “Al” Bernard Cormier, 84, who passed away June 6, 2023.
Al is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gerry Broussard Cormier; sons, Clint Cormier, Guy Cormier and Brady Cormier. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Cecilia -– A Mass of Christian Burial was held on June 9, for Vernon “Sukit” J. Blanchard, 87, who died on June 4.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Blanchard; daughters, Karen B. Noel and Brenda Rogers; step-daughters, Denise Angelle and Nina Menard; step-son, Luke Menard; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Darrell Blanchard, Alvin Blanchard, Sam Blanchard, Gerald Blanchard and Cecil Blanchard; and his sister, Agnes Patin.

Visitation was held at Walters Funeral Home on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. for Harris Joseph “Buddy” Pellerin, Jr., 72, who died on Friday, June 2, 2023. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Louisiana National Veterans Cemetery in Zachary, Louisiana.
